ABOUT CFSLOCO: Since 1998, The Community Foundation has awarded more than $74 million in grants and scholarships, strengthening nonprofits and helping local students pursue their dreams. Today, we steward over $94 million in charitable assets, invested to benefit San Luis Obispo County forever.
For more than two decades, we have worked side by side with professional advisors, including attorneys, CPAs, financial planners, trust officers, and insurance professionals, to help clients achieve their charitable goals. Together, we design giving solutions that are tax smart, personalized, and impactful.
Your clients look to you for trusted guidance on their financial and legacy planning. When charitable giving becomes part of that conversation, The Community Foundation can be your partner. We bring deep community insight, flexible giving options, and trusted stewardship to every philanthropic plan.
Annually, we gather estate attorneys, CPAs, wealth managers and more to learn about community needs, trends in charitable giving and discuss charitable solutions. Thank you, colleagues and friends, for attending the recent luncheon on October 29, 2025. We extend our sincere appreciation to the members of our Professional Advisors Committee, whose leadership and collaboration helped produce this event and continue to inspire philanthropy across San Luis Obispo County.

Real Estate Foundation
Although, real estate comprises a significant portion of the net worth of many individuals on the Central Coast, many charities are reluctant to accept land and real estate due to the legal complexities and risks involved. To address this, The Community Foundation has created the Real Estate Foundation of San Luis Obispo County, a separate public benefit corporation, to facilitate the sale of donated real estate in order to pass the net proceeds of that sale on to charities designated by the donor. These gifts may include real property, an ownership portion of real property or potentially a loan investment secured by real property.
