Kids' Cancer Research Foundation

When the sickest of the sick children in our community are diagnosed with cancer, they have to travel to the few medical centers outside our area that focus on their disease. These centers, many of which also treat adults, have a long history of developing the treatments that are being used today to save lives locally.

The Kids’ Cancer Research Foundation is dedicated to supporting the development of life-saving treatments for pediatric cancer, specifically the one most prevalent in infants and young children.

In addition, KCRF published a free guide for dealing with a cancer diagnosis. The book, Steps to Hope, was designed to benefit both children and adults with cancer. The reviews were unanimous: “The book will save lives.”  It was even endorsed by Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee—Pulitzer Prize winner for his book, The Emperor of All Maladies—who recommended it to Reader’s Digest resulting in an article featuring Kids’ Cancer Research Foundation that appeared in the March 2014 issue.
